Stephanie's Quilt - Accuquilt Go Churn Dash

My soul is fed with needle and thread.

I managed to slip away from my frenzied holiday crafting this year to enjoy some blissful time with my second love...quilting. I stitched this lap quilt for my daughter, Stephanie, who  lives in Monterey, CA where the breeze off the magnificent Pacific ocean can get quite crisp on winter evenings. This cozy cotton quilt should provide her with a virtual hug from me and some snugly warmth  in her seaside paradise.

At approximately 54  x 72  inches, its generous size fits a twin bed.  My daughter chose a layer cake in blue shades and I contrasted it with shades of red.  I added a few leftover squares to jazz up the piecing on the back.

I almost always make striped binding for my quilts.  I love the crisp, modern look it adds to a traditional quilt.

With all the holiday madness  over, I can't wait to use my Accuquilt Go Big to die cut some new fun blocks.  My stash is calling me!.

Thanks for visiting.
Go forth and create some handmade snugly love.

Stay Close to People Who Feel Like Sunshine - Vera Lane Digi

"Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others
cannot keep it from themselves."

Copic markers, Vera Lane digi from Etsy, Cricut cutting and writing,
white gel pen, gem swirl, bow die, dp background

Hey there,

I've recently discovered THESE Vera Lane's digi stamps on Etsy and I'm blown away by their whimsical cuteness.  These fabulous images are so lovably quirky,  I just can't get enough of them. This darling little girl's enormous soulful eyes shaded by her luscious curtain-like eyelids are so dreamy.  And, oooooh, those  magical plaits!

I cut out the tag-shaped 5 x 7- inch card base in Cricut Design Space. I knew I wanted the sentiment to match the mirth this little doll-face conveys, and I think this one is perfect.  I have several sunshiny friends in my  fun-loving tribe who are worthy of this card.  And, thankfully, i have several amazing Vera Lane images  to play with.

Thanks for visiting.
Go forth and spread some sunshine.

Lotus Chilling on a Country Swing - Make It Crafty Digi's

Wherever life plants you, bloom with grace.

Copic markers, Make it Crafty Lotus and Country Swing digis, Spellbinder frame die,
Impression Obsession butterfly and flower dies, gold leafing pen, Nuvo drips, fun foam for mounting

Hey there,

I created this birthday card for a darling friend in my card making tribe ages ao and I'm happy to be finally posting it.   My birthday card theme this year is "charming images situated in idyllic scenes".  These adorable Make it Crafty digi stamps are perfect for that purpose.   I seated cute little Lotus on a country swing in the middle of a sunny garden to show off her perky style.  I edged the panel with gold and mounted it with a fun foam square on a lacy Spellbinders frame.  My pink card base is 6" x 6."

The tiny butterfly and flower dies are from Impression Obsession and are perfect for small details in a scene.

It's a cool, wintry day in California today (55 degrees--brrrrrr), but creating in my craft room makes me feel like I'm in a sunny garden every day!

Thanks for visiting,
Go forth and create a sunny day in your craft space.

You are Made of Magic - Janna Prosvirina Fantasy Fairy

To find magic in your life, just look deeply within yourself,
and you will find that one thing that will elevate you
and vaporize your worries, like magic.

Copic markers, Janna Prosvirina digi from Etsy, Cricut Design Space, Cricut Maker,
gold leafing pen, white gel pen, rhinestones, blue and lavender card stock
Hey  Artsy Tribe,

Magical is a word I would use to describe Janna Prosvirina's incredible digital art.  THIS lovely fairy in light grayscale was a delight to color with Copics in soft shades of blue, lavender and green.  I  continued her airy ethereal look with a whispy scroll-bordered card base which I was excited to find in Cricut Design Space.  I also created a small tag for my sentiment in Design Space and printed it with the  writing feature.  I edged my panel and card with a gold leafing pen and  embellished with lavender and clear rhinestones.  I added white gel pen dots to my lady's lovely wavy locks and my flower centers.

I loved coloring this enchanting fae with subtler colors than my usual vivid hues. Sometimes a little lighter touch is needed to bring forth the magic.

Thanks for visiting.
Go forth and vaporize your worries with your own kind of magic.
